Partners come to HBS from a variety of backgrounds, and they seek a variety of activities during their time in Boston. Some plan to continue working in already-established careers. Some view this as a good time to explore new careers, while others choose to earn spending money through part-time or temporary positions.

International Partners, make sure that you apply for your J-2 work visa immediately when you arrive! The Employment Authorization can take up to 4 months to come through, and you CANNOT start work without it. The J-2 is a type of visa that is given to a very limited number of people. For more information, contact the Harvard International Office.

Career & Professional Development
The HBS Prematriculation website outlines many services from CPD available to partners including online career guide, career coaching, and resume review. Ask your student to log onto the website for you. HBS also posts available jobs from outside companies wanted to hire partners in the spring and summer.
Baker Library
Baker Library (the HBS Library) is a terrific resource for information on companies and industries. Partners may use the library, access databases, and utilize the helpful librarians.
